DLA Piper requested that some students look into the idea of how they should decide which projects and pro bono cases to undertake. As a group we decided that , on a whole, we believed that we should look at the debate of whether it is better to invest time, money and resources into local projects or global projects. We discussed individualism and individuals impact and civil engagement in society. And how sometimes it seems hard for an individual to make a significant impact, or seem powerful enough to change or help aspects of society.
We thought about the impact of the coming together of individuals who make these, intially small, organisations and how these can collectively make a more effective impact. Giving a greater role of civic engagement and ability to change aspects of society. Therefore leading us to find many examples of locally started organisations which have gone on to have an effect on a global scale, such as Greenpeace.
